How Embracing a Growth Mindset Inspired My Newsletter and YouTube Channel

Hi friend!,
Today, I'm excited to share the idea that inspired me to start this newsletter and my YouTube channel.
What is Mindset? What are Growth and Fixed Mindsets?
Mindset refers to our belief system about our abilities and potential. Carol Dweck's (a professor of psychology at Stanford University) research highlights two types: fixed and growth.
A fixed mindset believes our qualities are set in stone, leading to a fear of failure and avoidance of challenges. In contrast, a growth mindset embraces challenges and views failure as a learning opportunity, believing abilities can be developed.
The key difference between a fixed and growth mindset is that people who possess the latter look at failure as an opportunity to grow instead of seeing it as the limit of their capabilities.
“The passion for stretching yourself and sticking to it, even (or especially) when it’s not going well, is the hallmark of the growth mindset. This is the mindset that allows people to thrive during some of the most challenging times in their lives.” -
Even if you have a fixed mindset, you can learn some skills and mental shifts required to move from a fixed mindset to one of growth and eventual success. You can reach your maximum potential, embrace the process instead of harping on the outcome, and unlock your latent creative talent.
What is the Relation between this Newsletter or Starting a YouTube Channel?
My journey reflects a growth mindset. I started this daily newsletter and YouTube channel to learn more, develop new skills, and share them with you.
It's not just about sharing knowledge but also about embracing the process of learning and growing together. Every topic I explore and share is a step towards personal development for both myself and you, my audience.
For a more in-depth understanding of mindset theories, you can refer to Carol Dweck's work here or check the book summary on Blinklist.
